Penn State Quarterback Recruit off to Strong Start in Senior Season

Reid Hackney is a retired retail executive who, throughout his career, held senior positions with AGACI, and Ascena Retail Group. Before beginning his career, Reid Hackney earned a degree in accounting from Penn State University. He continues to support his alma mater through his fandom of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team.

The Nittany Lions are off to a promising start in 2017. As of September 25, the team was ranked No. 4 in the country following a 4-0 start to the season. The good news doesn’t just begin and end with the team’s current roster, however. Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class appears promising, even with the decommitted status of five-star recruit Justin Fields. The quarterback announced over the summer that he was seeking other opportunities, and the Lions wasted little time in finding a replacement. Following a July 14 workout session, Will Levis announced his intention to play for Penn State in 2018.

The 6-foot-4 Xavier High School (Middletown) senior was ranked as the top prospect in all of Connecticut, at least according to 247Sports 2018 composite rankings. Through the first two weeks of the season he has proven worthy of that ranking, as he has thrown for seven touchdowns, a mark he reached in his fourth game the previous year. He finished his junior season with 25 total touchdowns and 1,972 passing yards. Prior to committing to Penn State, Levis received scholarship offers from Iowa, Florida State, Ole Miss, North Carolina, and Syracuse.
